Neelam currently serves as Associate Director in Transfer and Transition Services at Florida International University (FIU) and is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern. Utilizing her background in Social Work, she leads a team of advisors trained in strengths-based advising to provide pre-transfer support to students at local state colleges. Neelam also has experience working with children and families through a family preservation program, where she led children’s groups and co-facilitated parenting classes. She continues to work with children and families in the Muslim community as an advisory board member with Sanad Trust Foundation. In this capacity, Neelam has worked with the Sanad team to launch the Naseeha session program, which seeks to provide supportive listening and counsel to the South Florida Muslim community. Neelam also works with the Islamic Center of Greater Miami (ICGM) to offer an annual Qiyaam night for young Muslim women during the month of Ramadan.
