Founder & Clinical Therapist at Crescent Counseling & Coaching.
I am a mental health therapist, social worker, and coach specializing in culturally competent care for Muslim, South Asian, and Middle Eastern communities. I am the founder and owner of Crescent Counseling & Coaching, my private practice based in South Florida. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand how emotional struggles were often misunderstood, minimized, or stigmatized in many cultural and faith-based communities. These experiences inspired me to dedicate my career to bridging the gap between faith, emotional wellness, and accessible mental
health support.
During my master’s program, my year-long capstone project focused specifically on Muslim community outreach — a topic I personally chose because of its deep importance to me. I created a comprehensive plan to reach the Muslim community, identifying gaps, barriers to care, and culturally sensitive strategies to improve access to mental health services. It is truly fulfilling to now apply that work here and bring it to life through collaboration with the mosque and broader community. My faith in Islam is the foundation of everything I do. Being raised around many non-Muslim friends, I was often asked questions about Islam, which inspired me to seek deeper knowledge so that I could represent and explain my faith accurately and compassionately.
I regularly engage with Islamic knowledge through reading, lectures, and podcasts. I naturally share what I learn during therapy sessions (when appropriate), in conversations with family, friends, and strangers, as well as through my blog and Instagram platform. I strive for my character to reflect the peace, mercy, and strength that Islam teaches. Giving back is a core value in my faith, and this work is one of the many ways I hope to fulfill that
responsibility. I believe Allah placed this knowledge, passion, and desire to serve within me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to live it out.
A long-term goal of mine is to expand Crescent Counseling & Coaching into a large group practice where I can employ, mentor, and train Muslim mental health professionals — including therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists — so that Muslim individuals and families can receive comprehensive mental health care from one trusted area, provided by people who truly understand their faith, culture, and experiences. I am passionate about creating a space where emotional, mental, and physical wellness are all supported while honoring Islamic values and identity.
