Meet Our Speakers & Moderator

Waheeda Saif
Waheeda is a licensed mental health clinician with over two decades of experience working with adolescents, families, and communities. She began her career as a Guardian ad Litem (child advocate) in the Florida Court System. Since 2008, she has been providing critical incident response services for the state of Massachusetts, including leading a mass casualty reunification team. Waheeda also assists both public and private institutions in developing crisis protocols for use in the aftermath of critical incidents.
In addition to her consultation services following traumatic events, Waheeda conducts national trainings on a range of issues, including crisis response, trauma, and suicide prevention. She is specifically trained in evidence-based trauma therapy modalities, such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), with a particular expertise in trauma and traumatic loss.
Her passion project is the Muslim Women’s Giving Circle, a philanthropic endeavor she launched that unites Muslim women to fund women-centered non-profits.
Dr. Ahmed Howeedy
Dr. Ahmed Howeedy is a Family Medicine physician in Boca Raton, Florida, where he serves as Chief Medical Officer for FHE Health, a Substance Use and Mental Health facility. He is also Medical Director for various facilities in South Florida, and serves as a Medical Review Officer and USCIS Civil Surgeon. Dr. Howeedy obtained his medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, and his undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Miami. During his medical studies he also pursued his studies in the Islamic sciences, studying with scholars locally and abroad. He is currently completing his degree in Islamic Jurisprudence from Jamiat Al-Ulum Islamiyya al Alamiyya in Amman, Jordan. Dr. Howeedy, also serves as Managing Director for Sagetree Foundation. He currently resides in Boca Raton with his family, serving as board member, teacher, and youth instructor at the Islamic Center of Boca Raton.


Saher Jangda
Seher Jangda is a bilingual (English/Urdu) Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has over 7 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. She specializes in anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, child therapy, poor coping skills, divorce, and domestic abuse.
Seher received her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. She enjoys working with people from all walks of life, however, she has specialized training and experience in helping trauma survivors as well as victims of domestic violence. Seher often uses a mindfulness approach in helping her clients overcome stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
Seher can help with all sorts of problems and situations. She has helped people through all types of issues
Moderator: Ali Siddique
Ali, currently studying part time at Qalam Seminary, is both a student of knowledge and a master’s student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Having amassed years of experience with his dedication to Charity Week and Young Muslims, he’s keenly passionate about mental health and is excited to serve the community.
