Dr. Kanwal Akhtar

Muslimah | Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician | Life Coach | Educator | Podcaster | Mother

With over a decade of dedicated service in the medical field, Dr. Kanwal Akhtar is not just a respected physician, but a visionary co-founder of a thriving medical practice, Founder of Islamic life coach school, an organization dedicated to the wellness of Muslim women worldwide. She is also the captivating voice behind Islamic Life Coach School Podcast. She pioneers a unique intersection of faith, mental health, and empowerment.

Deeply passionate about facilitating growth, She skillfully provides mental health tools that cater to a Muslim Woman’s unique needs, ensuring they don’t just survive, but thrive. By integrating spirituality with the intricacies of personal and financial success, she helps the modern Muslim woman navigate life’s challenges, reconciling faith with ambition. She helps Muslim women create unshakable ETHICAL confidence in their lives without arrogance. She holds multiple certifications including Neuro Linguistic programming, Internal Family Systems, Emerging use of psychedelics, Trauma Informed Coaching, and special expertise in the field of psychoneuroimmunology, or PNI as it relates to mental health and body based diseases. 

In every role she assumes, be it physician, life coach, or educator, Dr. Akhtar remains committed to making a difference, one life at a time.

Waheeda Saif

Waheeda is a licensed mental health clinician with over two decades of experience working with adolescents, families, and communities. She began her career as a Guardian ad Litem (child advocate) in the Florida Court System. Since 2008, she has been providing critical incident response services for the state of Massachusetts, including leading a mass casualty reunification team. Waheeda also assists both public and private institutions in developing crisis protocols for use in the aftermath of critical incidents.

In addition to her consultation services following traumatic events, Waheeda conducts national trainings on a range of issues, including crisis response, trauma, and suicide prevention. She is specifically trained in evidence-based trauma therapy modalities, such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), with a particular expertise in trauma and traumatic loss.

Her passion project is the Muslim Women’s Giving Circle, a philanthropic endeavor she launched that unites Muslim women to fund women-centered non-profits.

Dr. Sheeba Rahman

Dr. Rahman is a Board Certified Psychiatrist specialized in treatment of depression, anxiety, Mood and personality disorders with a special interest in family dynamics and women’s health. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Biochemisty from Stony Brook University, and her Medical Degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Rahman formerly worked for the Mayo Clinic health care system and is the former Vice president of  Counsel of American Muslim Professionals in NYC.

Community Service provided include: Women’s health seminar at Mayo Clinic, Mental Health seminars for Domestic Harmony Foundation, Lectures on mental healthat Islamic Center of Long Island and she continues to help spread mental health awareness in south Florida.

Dr. Gihan Omar

Dr. Gihan Omar is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience in the field. She earned her doctoral degree from the Florida Institute of Technology, completed her internship at the University of Houston, and pursued a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Yale University School of Medicine, where she continued as an Associate Research Scientist before joining Citrus Health Network (CHN). At CHN, Dr. Omar has led various programs serving children and adolescents with mental health challenges. She currently serves as the Clinical Director for both the Foster Care and CHANCE (Citrus Helping Adolescents Negatively impacted by Commercial Exploitation) departments.

Dr. Omar frequently presents at local, state, and national conferences on topics related to adolescent mental health and human trafficking. Since 2007, she has also been a part-time faculty member at NOVA Southeastern University. Additionally, Dr. Omar owns Complete Mindset, LLC, where she offers therapeutic services, often to members of the Muslim community. She is currently contributing a chapter on Home-Based Services for the upcoming second edition of Counseling Muslims

Dr. Yasemin Saib

Dr. Yasemin Saib is a Florida Supreme Court Licensed & Certified Family Mediator, Theologian and Author. She is also an adjunct teaching faculty member in the Department of Religion at Florida International University.

Dr. Tasmina Sheikh

Dr. Tasmina Sheikh, MD, PA, is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She completed her residency in General Psychiatry at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in the University of Miami School of Medicine.
Dr. Sheikh brings 30 years of experience in psychiatric medicine through various distinguished institutions in both public and private clinical settings. She opened her private solo practice in 2003 and continues to proudly practice psychiatric medicine in Jupiter, Florida.
Dr. Sheikh frequently pursues philanthropic endeavors overseas, working with various international non-profit organizations to provide medical assistance to under-served populations.
