Meet Our Speakers and Moderator

Waheeda Saif
Waheeda is a licensed mental health clinician with over two decades of experience working with adolescents, families, and communities. She began her career as a Guardian ad Litem (child advocate) in the Florida Court System. Since 2008, she has been providing critical incident response services for the state of Massachusetts, including leading a mass casualty reunification team. Waheeda also assists both public and private institutions in developing crisis protocols for use in the aftermath of critical incidents.
In addition to her consultation services following traumatic events, Waheeda conducts national trainings on a range of issues, including crisis response, trauma, and suicide prevention. She is specifically trained in evidence-based trauma therapy modalities, such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), with a particular expertise in trauma and traumatic loss.
Her passion project is the Muslim Women’s Giving Circle, a philanthropic endeavor she launched that unites Muslim women to fund women-centered non-profits.

Tehsin Siddiqui
Ms Tehsin Siddiqui is a Physician’s Assistant by profession, Tehsin holds a Masters in Clinical Medical Sciences from Barry University. She worked as a Psychiatry Physician Assistant providing services to partial Hospitalization programs in SFL. She has a certification in suicide prevention training QPR from NAMI. She currently works as primary care physician Assistant at UHI Community Care Clinic, a community base medical clinic providing free primary health in South
Florida.
Tehsin co-founded the Muslim Women’s Organization that has carried out serval community service projects including annual toy drive, feeding the homeless, visiting the sick, help pack food for food pantries, refugee assistance etc. She also believes in promoting tolerance and in building bridges between communities and has served as a board member for COSMOS (Coalition of South Florida Muslim Organizations) since 2009.
Tehsin currently serves as the President of Nur Center and has been on their board since its inception in 2010. She regularly participates as a speaker and holds conferences to educate the community on women’s health, the impact of domestic violence, healthy relationships, mental health issues, women and islam. She lives in Davie with her husband and three children.

Taha Qureshi, born and raised in South Florida. Received his Bachelors in HSA and Masters in Communications from FIU. Worked for ICNA Relief for 5+ years. Has served many non-profits and masaajid in various capacities.
